Protein Loaded Stewed Black-Eyed Peas

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups of black-eyed peas 

  • 1 yellow onion

  • 1 mid-size carrot

  • 1 yellow bell pepper 

  • 1 orange bell pepper 

  • Jumbo shrimps 

  • All seasonings 

  • Fresh herbs ( rosemary, dill & mints)


Preparation
 

  • Wash & clean your shrimp 

  • Season your shrimp and marinate in the refrigerator as you continue to prep 

  • If using canned black peas, drain and rinse

Instructions 

  • Start by browning your onions 

  • Add the peppers 

  • Add the black-eyed peas & shrimp 

  • Add water or broth to fill one inch of the pot

  • Let it cook for an hour 

You can eat it by itself or serve it on rice.
